Colin's first Christmas was great. For Christmas Eve, we went to my cousin Julie's in Gig Harbor for a giant feast. There was turkey and ALL the side dishes you can imagine. It was great to spend some time with the family and catch up with everything that has been going on with them. He got a great teether and ths awesome octopus with legs that you squeeze and they make noise. I think the noises correspond with notes but I don't know much about music. On Christmas day, our friends from Seattle (formerly Santa Cruz), JoFo and Greg came and we made another great feast- this time with fried chicken and some gravy that I think could possibly revolutionize left over sandwich making! The gravy was thick and yummy- the main point is that it was not runny so it eliminats the need to soa a piece of bread in gravy for a moist maker- the gravy is its own spread. Colin had a great time playing with them. For Colin's feast he had some rice cereal- his first solid food ever. He seemed to enjoy it although it was really soupy and probably just tasted like we were feeding him milk off of a spoon. We are giving him that for a few more days and then we may mash up some banana for him to try out- hope he doesn't get too attached since bananas will be extinct soon. Anyway, we got the whole experience on video, so that should be posted shortly. In other Colin news, he is sitting on his own really well. He sits in high chairs when we go to restaurants and in the shopping cart when we go to the store. We have to get him one of those fabric thingees that goes in the shopping cart so he can't suck on the nasty bar. His favorite thing is to sit on the floor and look around at the living room and pick which toy to reach for. He has a long range, but every now an then he will reach too far and fall forward. I presume this behavior will soon lead to crawling, but for now it just upsets him. We are trying to post new pics and that movie soon. We are having so much fun exploring it is just hard to sit down and update. Hope all is well and everyone had a Merry Christmas!
